The evolution of the library (at least in Calgary, but assuming elsewhere) has been great.
The fact that you can put a hold, and have your book moved to your nearest location is great.
Their e-book selection is amazing.
But most important, I think, is the kids area. Where you are allowed to make noise and just be a kid. I remember, faintly, going to the library when I was young. There was maybe a small activity area but the general rule was still the same. BE QUIET.
It’s so much better that libraries have a place to let kids be kids so they have fond memories of spending time there and hopefully access it’s services more when they grow up.
