Yesterday I witnessed a man in an electronic wheelchair rush in front of a moving train just to make it to the other side. I wonder what could have been so important that he basically risked his life to save 30 seconds. Surely the cost benefit of that decision did not make sense.
I wish I could say that I’ve never been guilty of doing something similar but it’s not true. I can’t remember a specific moment comparable to that extreme, but for sure I’ve taken unnecessary action to save a few irrelevant minutes.
Better to get to our destination than to never make it at all.
