“Your first job after university is important and you should hold the position for a minimum 1-2 years to show that you are committed!”
I’m sure many in my generation have heard this, or something similar.
Sure, commitment is important. But also important is the ability to understand what works (or doesn’t work) for you. If you find yourself doing something you don’t truly like, cut it loose. It’s ironic because making this decision is actually a commitment to yourself and finding your mission/purpose.
I’ve learned this in different areas of my life (sports, relationships, work). Looking back I wish I had listened to myself sooner and changed things up, failed faster. Rather then worrying so much about what others thought.
When you make a decision, don’t forget to communicate.
