Knowing how long I need to sleep has changed my life.
Sure, I can go on 6 hours of sleep for extended periods of time but it doesn’t work for me in the long term. I’m less productive and ultimately get less done, feel more anxiety and overall am not happy. Nothing to be proud of.
Here is how I figured out how long I need to sleep: I committed to going to be ultra early and then just woke up without an alarm.
What happened?
While at first I was sleeping for a long time 10+ hours. I think this was just because I was so deprived of sleep, but after some time this normalized to 8.5 hours. That’s my number.
If I consistently get this amount of sleep my mood is better, I’m more productive, feel less anxious and overall have a better quality of life.
