Power through or ease off?

Yesterday I did something that was uncharacteristic of me at the gym. I was feeling a bit of pain in my lower back so I decided to ease off. Do less and leave early.

I’m sure glad I did. Years ago I would have “powered through”. I would think “it will be fine”.

Using our intuition when it comes to our bodies is so important. The risk reward in this case did not make sense. I had the option to “push through” and risk injury, or pull back and be able to show up tomorrow feeling great.

Planning for the long term is always going to be a winning strategy.
