Let the kids do the work

Imagine your child has to complete and art project for school. And you complete the work for them.

The unintended consequences from doing this are pretty big.

To start, your child doesn’t learn anything (other than my parents will complete work for me if I’m don’t want to).

The second (and worst) effect is all the other children in class who will compare their project to one completed by an adult. How do you think they will feel? They don’t know that the ‘best’ project was actually completed by an adult.

I understand that we need to teach children about self esteem, not comparing themselves to others, etc. But why are we setting them for failure?

Let the kids do the work.
