Attended this quarter’s 100 Men Calgary event Tuesday night and was completely shocked when hearing about the #NotInMyCity movement.
The movement outlines the extent of human trafficking in Canada and globally. According to their website “human trafficking is one of the fastest growing crimes in Canada with 94% of Canada’s trafficking victims coming from Canada.”
Some other appalling stats:
- 13 years old is the most common age for trafficked girls.
- $280,800 average profit per yer per girl.
If you’re reading this I encourage you to check out the #NotInMyCity site. Specifically the learning resources so you are equipped to identify if this is happening close to you. Because chances are, it is.
