I think it’s safe to say that screens are here to stay.
Because of this it’s no surprise that screen time for kids is rising rapidly. I don’t think this is a good or bad thing. It’s just a thing. Every generation will have a thing.
I remember growing up and being restricted on the amount of time that I could play video games. Fast-forward to today and ‘gamer’ is a legitimate profession. Kids are saying they want to be a professional e-sports player when they grow up.
So the question now isn’t “are our kids going to spend a lot of time in front of a screen?” We already know the answer. The question is “are our kids going to do something productive in front of the screen?” Are they going to focus on creation, or consumption.
Let’s opt for creation.
