Over personalization of marketing automation is weird.
If I opt into an email list it’s because I enjoy the content being delivered.
Starting with “Hi Bryan” is fine. But when the message feels personal, is asking for a reply, but still looks automated, it’s a terrible combination. It feels like the sender is trying to trick you.
There is two ways to overcome this.
- Actually reach out to the person directly (no automation).
- Send a plaintext email, so it doesn’t feel like a newsletter.
