If there is one thing that I’ve learned to embrace over the past year or so it’s been to be comfortable with silence.
What do I mean?
Well, when we have deep, meaningful conversations there are moments when both parties are silent. It used to make me uncomfortable, but I’ve learned that it’s actually useful.
You can learn a lot in those moments. Or you can compose yourself and saying something that is thoughtful.
It’s tempting to ‘fill the void’, but it can be more impactful just to live in it. Even if it’s just for a moment.
It’s hard to explain in writing. All I can say is you should try it.
